Prescription for the Doctor’s Wife by Debby Read – Hope and help for your unique marriage. One of the main goals of Side By Side is to strengthen medical and dental marriages and this study does just that! Debby shares stories from her heart as a woman in a medical marriage and from the lives of other women, giving practical advice based on the wisdom of God’s Word to help you thrive…not just survive. Whether you are dealing with the loneliness of an often-absent husband, the disappointment that life isn’t what you expected, or feeling the pressure to “do it all,” you’ll find answers in this book. SBS La Crosse experienced this study many years ago and thought it was time to bring it back since it results in studying God’s Word in a way that will inspire and encourage your relationship with God, with your husband, and with other women. This study is great, whether you are new to Bible study or seasoned. The weekly preparation will take 30-60 minutes. The cost is $15.99. We will be meeting in person on Wed mornings with co-leaders Molly Reynen, Elizabeth Witcik, Lisa Young, Heidi Erickson & Michelle Zlabek.
Deuteronomy by Engaging God’s Word Deuteronomy is the fifth book of the Bible and was written by Moses as his last words to the Israelite nation, reminding them of God’s faithfulness and encouragement. Here we find a letter of instruction for those who have been saved by his grace, a book that recalls who God is, what he has promised and how he desires his people to live before him. We are able to ask: what does it mean to live out a covenant with God? The format is designed for people who are studying for the first time or have studied the Bible for years. Lesson preparation can be done in about an hour each week. The study will cover our first semester of SBS, and book can be ordered for $10.50. Co-leaders will be Annette Jarmen, Marlene Hutter, Mary Bartos and Robin Yew.
