Experiential Prayer Group Do you want to pray with other women and see God at work as he answers prayers? In this prayer group, we follow a structure that moves through adoration, confession, thanksgiving, intercession and supplication. Each week, we focus on an attribute of God, pray through scriptures related to that attribute and lift up whoever is on our hearts, often our husbands and children. There is no homework for this class, other than some verses to pray through beforehand. No experience necessary, everyone is welcome. Cost: $0, just bring your Bible. Co-leaders: Annette Jarman, Heidi Erickson, Megan Simonson, Ruthie Barnett
Optional: Feel free to order (or ask Ruthie to loan you) this booklet to learn more about what we've based this prayer group on.
None Like Him: 10 Ways God Is Different From Us (and why that’s a good thing) by Jen Wilkin God is self-existent, self-sufficient, eternal, immutable, omnipresent, omniscient, omnipotent, sovereign, infinite, and incomprehensible. We're not. And that's a good thing. Our limitations are by design. We were never meant to be God. But at the root of every sin is our rebellious desire to possess attributes that belong to God alone. Calling us to embrace our limits as a means of glorifying God's limitless power, Jen Wilkin invites us to celebrate the freedom that comes when we rest in letting God be God. This study would be great for those new to the Bible and those who are seasoned Bible readers. Each week you will read 10-15 pages in the book and answer four thought provoking questions (approximately 30 minutes of homework each week). There are ten chapters in this book so we will have two weeks for social time. Co-leaders: Mary Mueller, Sara Nash, Dawn Palm-Leis and Kelly Ziegelbein. Amazon Barnes & Noble Christianbook
